Mrs. Dessa Gooding, 87, a former resident of Crawfordsville, died Wednesday night in the Methodist Memorial Home at Warren, it was learned here Thursday. The widow of Ephie Gooding, Mrs. Gooding had been a resident of the home at Warren since June, 1951. Mrs. Gooding was a member of the Browns Valley Christian Church. Survivors include four grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Methodist Memorial Home Chapel in Warren at 9:30 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery here. The funeral party is expected to reach the cemetery at 12:30 p.m. Saturday. Friends may call at the Butler Funeral Home in Warren.  --typed by Walt W

Dessie Gooding was born to Thomas and Jane Philpott Livengood October 10, 1877, in Fountain County and lived her early life there. Was married to Ephie Gooding in June of 1894. Mr. Gooding passed away about 9 years ago. They had been residents of the Methodist home at Warren since 1951. She leaves a sister, Orpha Bruner of Earl Park. She was proceeded in death by a sister and her father and mother. She leaves 4 grandchildren, Margaret Stewart of Crawfordsville, Robert McClure of Waveland, Dale McClure of Hillsboro and Marjorie Grimes of Crawfordsville. She was a member of the Christian church at Browns Valley. She was buried Saturday, May 8, with graveside services in the family lot at Oak Hill Cemetery. --typed by Walt W
